Description Of Banner Advertising
In a banner advertising program

appears at or near the top of a web page and is usually intended to "tease"
the web surfer into clicking on to the banner to travel to the sponsors
web site. Small banners are generally used because they are less obtrusive
to the host site and tend to load quickly. When your banner receives a
"hit" the host website logs the request. This information then becomes
available to the advertiser.
